News Release — September 9, 2010 — Lange Graphics, Inc., has installed two Epson Stylus Pro 9900 printers, despite already having two other very reliable Epson 9800 44” wide-format printers for proofing.
FUJIFILM Graphic Systems has installed Two EPSON Stylus Pro 9900 8-up inkjet proofing devices at Lange Graphics, Inc., in Denver Colorado. According to Greg Konke, pre-press manager at Lange Graphics, “It is very important that we are producing consistent calibrated contract color proofs. This new system has inline spectrophotometers to check every proof. This will help us to give our customers the very best representation of what to expect when they get on press.”
Bud Lange, president of Lange Graphics, Inc., is dedicated to excellence in printing and, due to this commitment, ordered the optional built-in 44” inline spectrophotometer on each proofing device. This feature comes with built-in dryers to accelerate the dry time and allow the spectrophotometer to read the special color charts.
An Oris Color Tuner Pro Web Color management software enhances this solution. Oris CGS color-management tools work together with the Epson 9900's eleven colors to produce certified proofs. Each proof is read by the spectrophotometer and if all is within GRACoL 7 standards, the proof receives a certification printed on the proof itself. If not within the specifications the proof is rejected and reprinted.
Lange still maintains a FUJIFILM FinalProofer in their pre-press department. Greg Konke said, “We keep and maintain this device because some of our customers still prefer a proof that uses dots. However the most important reason we keep the FinalProofer is that it is the best way to proof lenticular projects.” Lenticular is where a special process has been used to print on the back of special plastic stock that has different lenses e.g. 100 lenses per inch. When the project is done and we look at the printing through the lenses we see motion or depth like flip, animation, motion, and 3D.
Lange Graphics, Inc., has maintained a great reputation since it began doing business in 1977. Lange began printing on plastics and other specialty substrates in the 90s. They have been printing on static cling, rigid vinyl and other plastics since then. In 2008, they acquired a CREO Trendsetter 800 III Quantum Plate Imager with variable main scan resolution for lenticular printing. This, coupled with the KBA 40” UV six-color press poised Lange to become a leader in all things plastic, including motion, flip, animated, and 3D lenticular. The KBA press has a UV (Ultra Violet) capability, which means that the press is equipped with a UV lamp system that allows the use of a special ink formulated to cure when exposed to the UV lamps.
Lange continues to provide the very best proofing available, whether printing to plastic or paper. Call us today to learn more about what we can do for you, toll free at 800 748 2615, or within Denver 303 777 1737.
