News Release — August 9, 2010 — Bud Lange, president of Lange Graphics, Inc., has announced that in an effort to help designers utilize Lange’s ability to print lenticular products, in-house lenticular specialist, Greg Konke, will offer assistance in the design and photographic stages of their lenticular projects. Lange Graphics will, as always, make every effort to keep the additional charges to a minimum and photography services (if needed) will be by an outside vendor. Many designers and customers are interested in lenticular but are not sure what would be the best way to approach it.

The questions of whether they should do flip, animation, motion, 3D, or a combination and what type of lens to put the project on are where it is easy to get bogged down and eventually give up on a lenticular project. Our goal is to collaborate with the customer to come up with the best way to accomplish their objectives. Very few people have experience with lenticular design and printing — making it understandable that they would be apprehensive about recommending it. We want to remove that apprehension so that designers will be excited about offering the option of a lenticular project to their customers.

Lange Graphics, Inc., has maintained a great reputation since it began doing business in 1977. Lange began printing on plastics and other specialty substrates in the 90s. They have been printing on static cling, rigid vinyl, and other plastics since then. In 2008 they acquired a CREO Trendsetter 800 III Quantum Plate Imager with variable main scan resolution for lenticular printing. This, coupled with the addition of a KBA 40” UV six-color press poised Lange to become a leader in all things plastic, including motion, flip, animated, and 3D lenticular. The KBA press has a UV (Ultra Violet) capability, which means that the press is equipped with a UV lamp system that allows the use of a special ink formulated to cure when exposed to the UV lamps.

With the popularity of 3D increasing — especially in movies such as Avatar — the demand for 3D printing is growing.
